Prior to my SmartLipo operation, I'd never been satisfied with my body, particularly my stomach. I'd tried multiple diets; I exercise five times a week for two hours a day. Though it was slightly effective, I still had the hardest time getting the results I wanted. I discovered Smart Lipo through my doctor, who at first told me to weigh all the options and then decide if liposuction was for me. To tell you the truth I was rather hesitant to do anything so drastic, especially considering the horror stories I had heard.
When I finally decided to go with Smart Lipo, I didn't quite know what to expect. Then my doctor walked me through the procedure. When he told me about how non-evasive the surgery was my nerves were calmed. Basically, the doctor makes the smallest incision in your belly and administers a local anaesthesia -- numbing the area being operated on, but not putting you to sleep. Yes, there is a laser involved; however, I couldn't feel a thing, and really, it wasn't as frightening as I though it was going to be. I imagined a giant red-hot laser making a horrible gurgling noise and singeing my flesh; in fact, all I heard was a small buzz and I felt nothing.
I'm not going to sit here and tell you that I didn't have a little discomfort. Really, though, the most painful part of the procedure was the administering of the anaesthesia, and that amounted to about 15 seconds. I was a bit sore afterwards, having had fat zapped out of my body. But my discomfort and lethargic feeling only lasted for about an hour and half after the procedure.
It's been two months now and I feel a great deal of a weight --no pun intended-- lifted off my shoulders. I have no problem showing my belly --as there is virtually no noticeable scarring. It's going to take me a while to get 100% confidence, but at two months, I have about 70%.
